Unlike standard web services, Ledger Live does not use a typical login system (no username or password). Instead, access to your wallet is controlled by your Ledger hardware device (e.g., Ledger Nano S Plus or Nano X) and a secure PIN code. Ledger Live simply acts as a dashboard interface — the security is handled by your hardware device.
Here’s how you access your wallet securely through Ledger Live:
Launch the Ledger Live application on your desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux) or mobile device (iOS, Android).
Plug in your Ledger Nano device via USB (or use Bluetooth with Nano X on mobile). This is required for accessing your crypto securely.
You’ll be prompted to enter your PIN code directly on your Ledger hardware wallet. This unlocks the device — like logging into your bank account.
Once the device is unlocked and connected, Ledger Live syncs with your accounts and shows your portfolio, balances, transaction history, and other features like sending, receiving, or staking crypto.
Ledger Live does not store your information online. That means:
This approach removes risks from phishing, server hacks, or cloud data leaks.
